Microsoft
Contextuality
For a design brief that included detailed workspace standards, Microsoft’s offices in Noida offered a great deal of freedom to the designers to interpret the brief within the regional context. The contemporary global themed office is peppered with regional references. Some cues are subtle: an industrial floor lamp that is a nod to the lights of the TV and film studios that dot the neighbourhood. Other references are more direct: like the ornate carved wood main entrance doors which could have easily belonged to a north Indian haveli.
Standout Feature
A Corten steel screen logo wall, laser cut with a graphical representation of the Fibonacci sequence.
It’s a reference to all coder’s love for mathematical magic, and also a hat-tip to the ancient Indian mathematicians who had discovered the sequence several centuries before its popularization in the west by Fibonacci.
