Ericsson
Making In India
After designing more than twenty offices for Ericsson in India and East Asia, Via Design was assigned to design Ericsson India’s manufacturing center to a new, state of the art custom designed facility in Maharashtra. A part of a sprawling industrial estate in Chakan, located close to the city of Pune, the Ericsson facility is a part of an emerging manufacturing hub that includes majors such as Mercedez Benz & Amway.
The facility, laid out over a 7.2 acre (29,145 Sq.M) plot, comprises the core production and warehouse spaces covering an approximate area of 14,500 Sq.M. An administrative building covering 1,975 Sq.M provides world class meeting, conferencing, training & dining facilities for the complex.
The manufacturing block covers an area of 5000 Sq.M in a clean room environment along with specialized fire fighting controls designed for specialized electronic equipment. The warehousing unit spans 9500 Sq.M with electrostatically static dissipative floor and its soaring 12 m high ceiling with natural light pouring in through skylights adds a dramatic flair to the space.
Standout Feature:
The premises have been designed to USGBC LEED Gold rating standards and the complex puts into action Ericsson’s well renowned commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
